September’s third Saturday is a National Coastal Cleanup Day. We will go out to Bethune Beach Park. This is a beach clean-up only…no canoes. This is the Volusia County Park site: which has the park hours, a map, and many more details.
There’s plenty of parking, but it loads up after 10a, so I suggest to anyone coming to this event to come early, the ECO-Action Vehicle will be there as close to the ramp as possible by 9a. There’s four or five seats I can make available in the EAV if anyone would like to participate and needs a ride. Please call 678-876-1373 to secure a seat.
We’ll have our yellow garbage bags and grabbers for about twenty volunteers on the beach. I’m sure there’s a load of monofiliment there.
Please bring plenty to drink, sunscreen, a hat and gloves.
From I-4 and Hwy 44 at the New Smryna Beach Exit: Head east on Hwy FL-44 about 22 miles until the road veers to the south/right where you will then be on Co. Road A1A/ S. Atlantic Boulevard, about five to six miles further south the road will turn into Turtlemound Road with A1A a block to the east, turn left onto Kingfish Avenue and then right to the parking area on A1A.
